9-13 March: The next edition of the Grands Jours de Bourgogne
The 2018 vintage will take centre stage in this year’s edition! Winegrowers and négociants are thrilled to share this amazing vintage, combining both quality and quantity. Invitations were sent end of December. Journalists and professionals have until February 28 to register.
From Chablis to the Côte Chalonnaise, and from the Côte de Nuits to the Côte de Beaune, visitors will be able to explore the terroirs through more than 9 different tasting sites (for practical reasons, the wines of the Mâconnais will be offered for tasting in Beaune).
Our good resolution for 2020 and this 15th edition: to make life easier! The registration procedures have been simplified, the reception areas are larger and the WIFI network more efficient. Recommendations made by visitors in previous years have been followed wherever possible.
The Grands Jours de Bourgogne has brought together wine professionals and key market influencers every two years in the heart of the Burgundy vineyards since 1992. This unique and crucial event gathers more than 1,000 winegrowers, offering its participants nearly 6,000 wines over the space of 5 days.
Once again, Bourgogne wines is starting the Chinese New Year with a focus on the 2018 vintage and the lesser-known appellations on this market, such as Bourgogne AOC and the wines of Mâcon plus a geographical denomination.
The Bourgogne Wine Board (BIVB) initiated this promotion and encourages all stakeholders in the market to get involved and organize events (such as dinners with Bourgogne winemakers, tastings, and restaurant promotions). All these events will be listed and widely promoted in BIVB communication, notably on the dedicated Bourgogne Week Hong Kong website (online early February).
The BIVB is also hosting its own events to bring together importers, the media and market influencers around Bourgogne wines.
• One Day for Bourgogne Wines (February 26)
The week’s flagship event is being held for the fifth year running. The BIVB is inviting importers to present to the press and to professionals (wine merchants, sommeliers, importers) their latest wines due to come to market in May, for the most part from the amazing 2018 and 2017 vintages. This is an opportunity for the media to gain a first impression and for influencers to discover some of the lesser-known appellations, in particular the appellations Bourgogne and Mâcon, the stars of this edition.
By invitation only. Contact us for more information.
Highly anticipated after its good reception at the Bourgogne Week London, the 2018 vintage will thus be making its first steps into Asia. However, in addition to London, some older vintages will also be in the spotlight for this market of enthusiasts.
• Chablis White Cocktail (27 February)
Promoted by the Wines of Chablis for industry professionals in Hong Kong, the White Cocktail is the other highlight of the week. Painted in the colors of spring and wrapped in the conviviality specific to Bourgogne wines, the evening will explore the Petit Chablis and Chablis appellations, with an emphasis on food and wine pairings.
Besides the creation of a dedicated website, the visibility of these events will be boosted on social media via the hashtag #BourgogneWeek. Follow Bourgogne wines (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn) and Chablis (Twitter et Instagram).
25 March: explore the “Mâcon plus”
The next episode of “Rendez-vous avec les vins de Bourgogne”, an international show promoted by the BIVB, will explore the wines of Mâcon plus geographical denominations.
Each episode of the interactive “Rendez-vous avec les vins de Bourgogne” show, promoted by the Bourgogne Wine Board (BIVB), brings together hundreds of industry professionals, journalists and influencers from around the world, around one or several Bourgogne appellations.
The next episode, to be screened on 25 March, will be dedicated to the wines of Mâcon plus geographical designations. The perfect opportunity to explore the diversity of terroirs in the Mâconnais through Mâcon-Chardonnay, Mâcon-Serrière or Mâcon-Azé for example. These wines are a good introduction to interpreting the notion of terroir, an essential concept of Bourgogne wines.
The show lasts for one hour.
- The first 20 minutes are dedicated to reports and interviews with winegrowers.
- The second part features a guided tasting of several wines that participants at the corresponding events organized around the world can sample simultaneously with Jean-Pierre Renard, expert instructor at the École des Vins de Bourgogne.
- At the end of the show, Jean-Pierre will answer questions asked by participants via Twitterwith the #BIVBRDV hashtag.
The show is broadcast via satellite to 10 countries, in English at 9am, 11am, 6pm and 10pm, and in French at 4pm, depending on the time zone. Journalists — contact us if you would like to take part.
- If an Official Bourgogne wines Instructor organizes a session in your country and close to you, we will send you the registration.
- If no "physical" training is possible, we will still send you the link to watch (and rewatch) the show.

The Wine Paris trade show has published the list of exhibitors who will present their wines from 10 to 12 February in Paris. Some 2,000 producers, estates, négociants and wine stores have signed up for the event.
Among them are 142 representatives of Bourgogne, a remarkable increase on the 2019 edition (90). The level of participation underlines the growing appeal of this international trade event, now in partnership with Vinexpo Paris.
Wine Paris is exclusively reserved for wine industry professionals, and features numerous tastings, conferences, and masterclasses. The Bourgogne Wine Board (BIVB) is hosting two masterclasses, each an hour-long, led by the Bourgogne wines Official Ambassador, Thierry Givone:

La Chablisienne, the co-operative winery located in Chablis since 1923, is evolving in order to better meet new consumer demand.
Already rewarded last year with the 2019 Wine Tourism Trophies Golden Prize in the “Visit a Vineyard with the Family” category, organized by Terre de Vins and Atout France, La Chablisienne continues to expand its wine tourism offer with two new proposals:
- A virtual reality: making the most of all that a virtual reality headset has to offer, this innovation gives a 360° immersion in the vineyard, the fermenting room and the production site during periods of intense activity.
- An introduction to wine tasting: a classic feature, but still essential, this introduces visitors to wine tasting, and more specifically Chablis wines.
Bourgogne vs. Burgundy: to re-affirm their identity, the region and the producers are reverting back to the original French iteration of the name, Bourgogne.
