Created in 1950 by the Confrérie des Chevaliers du Tastevin, the Tastevinage is a seal of approval that guarantees the quality and authenticity of those wines selected as being most truly representative of Bourgogne, from Chablis to the Mâconnais, and even the Beaujolais Crus.
Each year, the Tastevinage presents a selection of its jury’s coups de Coeur: the Tastevinage Majors. The Major is a distinction of excellence that pays homage to the savoir-faire and quality of the award-winning wines, chosen from among this year’s 1,146 strong crop of tasteviné Bourgogne wines.
The 2020 edition will be held this Thursday November 12th between 5.00 and 6.30pm, in French (followed by a version in English from 6.30 to 7.30) in a new digital format in line with the measures recently introduced concerning Covid-19. The members of the Confrérie and the producers of the selected wines will present this edition’s laureates in a special videoconference masterclass.

In its quest for excellence, the TASTEVINAGE now confers the title of MAJOR on wines out by the judges as their favourites. This distinction is intended to highlight wines that not only reflect their appellation and vintage, but are also indisputably outstanding in their distinction of TASTEVINAGE MAJOR.
Rigorously selected, with the unanimous approval of the judges, from more than a thousand wines presented at the previous two annual TASTEVINAGE sessions, only twelve were awarded the supreme distinction of TASTEVINAGE MAJOR.
