Great news: The 2022 Wine Paris & Vinexpo Paris trade show has confirmed it will be running from 14-16 February at La Porte de Versailles in Paris.
After almost two years of absence, Wine Paris & Vinexpo Paris 2022 will be the first major international trade show to run this year.
Strict social distancing measures will be put in place to guarantee the security of all participants whilst ensuring the event is a comfortable, convivial one, nonetheless. All attendees will be required to present a valid vaccination certificate, masks must be worn at all times, eBadges will be favored over physical tokens, and both PCR and lateral flow tests will be available on site for a fee.
In total, more than 180 representatives from the Bourgogne winegrowing region will be exhibiting their wines at the event. Some 142 winegrowers from the region will be gathered together under the region’s banner at the Bourgogne Pavilion, while a winetasting area will be hosted by an official Bourgogne Wines Ambassador with around 70 wines on offer from the region.

29 winners at the Chablis Wine Competition
The Chablis Wine Competition was organized according to strict social distancing measures but nonetheless selected 29 worthy winners.
The 36th edition of the Chablis Wine Competition took place on Saturday 15 January. This year’s event was, however, restricted in terms of attendees.
This competition is organized by the Office du Chablis in partnership with the Bourgogne Wine Board (BIVB). It recognizes the best wines from the area which then go on to become ambassadors for the Chablis region at events in France and abroad.
The wines are evaluated by a diverse jury comprising journalists, restaurateurs, sommeliers, traders, oenologists, winegrowers, and wine lovers. The wines go through two rounds of tasting and those that score highest on the first round, when they are sampled by the entire jury, are then put before a “super” jury, which selects the medal winners.
For the 36th edition, presided over by journalist Guillaume Baroin, the winning wines were selected from some 262 samples submitted.
Canada: The “Les Grandes Retrouvailles” event will run on 20 June in Montreal.
Bourgogne wine producers and trade representatives will be able to meet in a cozy environment to foster fruitful business exchanges.
The event involves 4.5 hours of tastings where participants can meet and greet producers. There will also be special areas dedicated to Bourgogne and Chablis wines along with themed tables for Crémant de Bourgogne, lesser-known Village appellations, and the Climats of the Bourgogne winegrowing region.
USA: “Bourgogne Homecoming” will run on 21 June in New York and 23 June in Los Angeles. This event will allow the American wine trade to reconnect with Bourgogne wine producers during a dedicated day where participants can taste wines as they wish.
The event will feature a four-hour unstructured tasting along with a range of events, a press conference, special areas dedicated to Bourgogne Aligoté for NYC, and the greater Bourgogne region for LA, and a Chablis area at both.
UK: This event, which had been scheduled to run in March, will now take place on 7 June in London. It will provide a chance for trade representatives to connect with Bourgogne winegrowers over the space of a day’s tastings and to discover wines with an exceptional quality-price-pleasure ratio.
The event will run from 10:30am to 6pm, with tastings of wines from around 50 producers, a press conference, a masterclass on Chablis wines, a roundtable event featuring Crémant de Bourgogne along with a dedicated tasting area, and a space for suggested food and Bourgogne wine combinations.
A new video format dedicated to Chablis wines is now available.
Straight Chablis is a new series of videos in English that have been designed to offer an in-depth exploration of a range of subjects. They feature themes such as the difference between the Chablis and Petit Chablis appellations, the different Climats in Chablis Grand Cru, and the different vintages in the region.
These videos have been developed in partnership with SommCom and take the form of a discussion between two experts over a wine tasting. They provide a great opportunity for English-speaking trade and Chablis wine representatives to exchange on some very specific topics.
Bourgogne vs. Burgundy: to re-affirm their identity, the region and the producers are reverting back to the original French iteration of the name, Bourgogne.
