Bourgogne sparkling wine made history as early as 1830, when the poet Alfred De Musset celebrated it in his “Secrètes pensées de Raphaël”. It was born at the beginning of the 19th century in Chablis, Nuits-Saint-Georges, Rully and Tonnerre. Since then, it has continued to sparkle and follow in the footsteps of the great wines of Bourgogne!
In all the markets in which the wines of Bourgogne enjoy a following, the sparkling wine market is booming… and Crémant de Bourgogne has its own place in this new dynamic. It has everything it takes to meet the expectations of consumers looking for great sparkling wines. Crémant de Bourgogne offers quality, diversity of expression and the ability to pair with every dish, and every moment of life… and all at an unbeatable price.
The AOC will celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2025: since its creation in 1975, producers and winemakers have been working to improve not only the quality but also the diversity of expression through special cuvées, plot selections and so on. There is not just ONE Crémant de Bourgogne, but MANY Crémant de Bourgogne wines for every table.
Bring Crémant de Bourgogne to your table!
It is a wine that exudes youth and boldness. Everything about it emphasises its fresh liveliness. Over time, Crémant de Bourgogne acquires the maturity of a great wine! In the semi-dry version, its liveliness is transformed into sweetness, giving way to a new taste experience: sweetness. White is usually a white gold colour. The bubbles are fine and form a delicate string of pearls. The citrus, floral and mineral aromas of the Crémant de Bourgogne appellation are accompanied by freshness and elegance on the palate, with an acidity that balances aromatic power with the desired lightness. They go well with starters such as poultry confit with pears and dried fruit. The Blanc de Blancs evokes white flowers, citrus fruit and green apples. Over time, its aromas develop towards notes of stone fruits such as apricot and peach, and toast. They are the perfect accompaniment to scallops or river fish. The Blanc de Noirs exhales aromas of cherry, blackcurrant and raspberry. A powerful wine on the palate, with length and persistence. Time lends it charm and warmth, with sometimes-honeyed aromas of dried fruit, spices and nutmeg. They go well with braised beef. It is also an ideal accompaniment to free-range poultry, such as a poularde de Bresse chicken. The rosé is made from Pinot Noir grapes, with or without Gamay, and has a golden pink colour. It is a delicate wine with subtle aromas of red fruit. It forms the perfect accompaniment to petits fours, and its fruity aromas are an ideal match for a red berry sorbet, or even a dark chocolate moelleux.
Bourgogne vs. Burgundy: to re-affirm their identity, the region and the producers are reverting back to the original French iteration of the name, Bourgogne.
