The Chateau du Clos de Vougeot receives wine tourism's Grand Prix d'Or for Business and Private Events at the 2021 Wine Tourism Awards

The judges at the 2021 Terre de Vins Wine Tourism Awards at Bordeaux’s Cité du Vin have given their verdicts. The Chateau du Clos de Vougeot was among the prize winners at the third edition, receiving the Grand Prix d’Or in the ‘business and private events’ category.

A Grand Prix d’Or for the Château! Organized by the magazine Terre de Vins in partnership with the wine tourism section of the French tourism development agency Atout France, the third consecutive edition of France’s wine tourism awards ceremony – the Trophées de l’Oenotourisme – was held on June 3rd last at the Cité du Vin in Bordeaux. Up for the taking were twenty-seven awards in nine categories, rewarding excellence in French wine tourism. The top award in the ‘business and private events’ category went to the Clos de Vougeot for the diversity, value for money and modernity of their customer offers.

Speaking after the award ceremony, Arnaud Orsel said, « This award has a special significance for our entire team, every member having been actively involved for several years in promoting business and private events at the Château. It is also, intrinsically, an acknowledgement of the Confrérie’s long-established reputation and influence, its importance in forging links, and the loyalty of the members who, year after year, look to the Château to host their professional and private events. In short, the award recognizes the comprehensive quality and excellence of our approach, from the truly unique setting to the exceptional gastronomic experience we offer our guests, especially for weddings and other receptions. It is a great and welcome reward for the work we have undertaken, and, after the delays and tribulations of lockdown, is sure to be key in encouraging our teams in developing at pace both the ‘discovery’ and ‘reception’ side of what the Château can offer. We will give it our all! »

The award is an additional piece of good news for the Château du Clos de Vougeot as it prepares to launch its “Eté divin” – a “divine summer” of guided tours, walks, winetasting-lunches, festivals and cultural events. The complete program will be unveiled very soon. Rest assured that more than ever the emphasis will be on wine tourism – a season sure to delight all those passionate about discovering Burgundy’s heritage, vineyards, wines and gastronomy.
