Available in digital format, this guide features nearly 250 wine cellars bearing the prestigious Vignobles & Découvertes label, each selected for their exceptional hospitality and commitment to excellence. It also provides essential information on Bourgogne's vineyards, the national Vignobles & Découvertes label, the Cité des Climats et vins de Bourgogne, and the École des Vins de Bourgogne. This educational approach helps visitors to better understand the meticulous work of winegrowers, the uniqueness of the terroir, and the industry's commitment to responsible viticulture.
A label synonymous with quality
Awarded by Atout France, the national Vignobles & Découvertes label ensures a warm welcome, an immersion into winegrowing heritage, and awareness of responsible consumption. This recognition allows visitors to enjoy a high-quality wine tourism experience with complete peace of mind.
A second guide dedicated to wine festivals
As a perfect complement, the Wine Festivals Guide showcases nearly 100 events held throughout the year in Bourgogne. From concerts and gourmet walks to tastings and performances, these events offer full immersion into the authentic Bourgogne way of life.
To start your visit in Bourgogne on the right foot and gain key insights before meeting the winegrowers, consider stopping by one of the three sites of the Cité des Climats et vins de Bourgogne in Chablis, Beaune, or Mâcon.
The sites in Chablis and Mâcon, which are closed for the winter season, will welcome visitors from Tuesday to Sunday, just like the Cité in Beaune, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., until November 2, 2025.
A Cultural and Educational Experience
Each site offers a multisensory tour designed for both adults and children, providing an engaging way to explore the history, expertise, and unique terroirs of Bourgogne. The program will be enriched throughout the year with thematic workshops, conferences, and temporary exhibitions.

The United States remains the leading export market for Bourgogne wines and has just experienced an exceptional year.
First, revenue saw a 26.2% increase compared to 2023, nearly twice the five-year average growth (+49%). All wine styles benefited from this momentum.
Export volumes also set new records, surpassing the previous high from 2021, with more than 20.9 million bottles shipped (+15.9% vs. 2023).
White wines break their 2021 record
In 2024, white Bourgogne wines accounted for 63% of export volumes (+16.4% vs. 2023, totaling just under 13.3 million bottles) and 53% of total revenue (+25.3% vs. 2023).
• The Bourgogne AOC (including Bourgogne plus a geographical denomination) continues to gain market share, now representing 35% of white wine export volumes and 37% of value (five-year average: 33% in volume, 34% in value). This strong momentum translates into +31.9% volume growth and +53.1% value growth compared to 2023.
• Chablis AOCs rank second, accounting for 29% of white wine export volumes and 24% of total revenue for this category.
Exports of Bourgogne red wines
In 2024, red wines—positioned at a strong value—accounted for 26% of total volumes (+15.6% vs. 2023) but 43% of Bourgogne’s revenue in the U.S. market (+28.4% vs. 2023).
Two key appellation groups dominate the category:
• The Bourgogne AOC (including Bourgogne plus a geographical denomination) represents the vast majority, with 73% of red wine export volumes and 49% of value. After two years of decline, these wines rebounded strongly in 2024, with +24.5% growth in volume and +65.7% in revenue compared to 2023.
• Village and Village Premier Cru wines from Côte de Beaune and Côte de Nuits follow, accounting for 18% of red wine export volumes and 26% of value in the U.S. market. Revenue in 2024 is approaching the record set in 2022 (€41.7 million) and continues to grow, up +7.2% compared to 2023.
Bourgogne is the fastest-growing AOC vineyard in France in terms of volume and value in Canada in 2024. Among the provinces, Québec remains by far the leading market for Bourgogne wines, accounting for 69% of imported volumes.
As in the United States, Bourgogne wine exports to Canada declined in 2022 and 2023 before returning to normal in 2024, following an exceptional 2021.
This rebound has resulted in strong performance: +15.9% in volume (nearly 7.99 million bottles exported) and +15.7% in revenue, an increase of €10.8 million compared to 2023.
Bourgogne white wines: the undisputed market leader
White wines account for 72% of Bourgogne wine exports, with a steadily increasing market share.
- Wines from the Bourgogne AOC (including Bourgogne plus a geographical denomination) represent 50% of exported white wine volumes and 43% of their value (+31.9% in volume and +53.1% in value, 2024 vs. 2023).
- Chablis AOCs closely follow, making up 40% of the volume and 43% of the value. The Chablis and Petit Chablis duo has seen a volume increase of +32.3% compared to 2023, with an additional €3.3 million in revenue (€18 million total, +22.5% vs. 2023).
Red wines regain momentum
After two years of volume decline, Bourgogne red wines are making a comeback in this market. Following the record-breaking year of 2022 and a significant drop in 2023, revenue rebounded in 2024: +10.4% compared to 2023, an increase of €2.3 million for a total exceeding €24.77 million.
The Bourgogne AOC (including Bourgogne plus a geographical denomination) was overwhelmingly dominant, showing strong growth in volume (+10.7% vs. 2023) and value (+21.8%). These wines accounted for 79% of Bourgogne red wine imports to Canada. Village and Village Premier Cru AOCs of the Côte Chalonnaise gained traction, with a +29.7% increase in volume and +67.4% in revenue compared to 2023. As a result, they now represent 2.5% of red wine volumes and 3.3% of Bourgogne red wine revenue in Canada.

Results of the 64th Edition of the Hospices de Nuits-Saint-Georges Wine Auction
On March 9, the 64th Hospices de Nuits-Saint-Georges wine auction, organized for the first time by iDealwine, reached a total of 856,950 € (excluding the charity barrel).
The average price per barrel of the 2024 vintage surged by +41.5 %, reaching 22,422 € per barrel, a level close to the record of 2022. A historical rarity (36.5 barrels sold, compared to 150 in 2024) and exceptional quality explain this price surge.
Additionally, the unprecedented sale of older vintages (2005–2017) raised 60,950 €. The charity barrel, a Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Les Terres Blanches, fetched 50,905 € for the association "Coucou nous voilou*".
Cyrille Jomand, CEO of iDealwine, expressed his satisfaction with this first in-person auction: "We are delighted and proud of the results achieved in such a unique production context."
