The 2018 harvest: Bourgogne winemakers are very happy indeed

By mid-September, the harvests that began on 20 August were almost done. In those sectors later to ripen, mainly the Hautes Côtes, the Chablis region, and a few specific Climats on the Côte, the winemakers are profiting from the excellent weather conditions and exceptional health of the grapes to spread out the picking. Their aim is perfect maturity, and everything should have been gathered by the end of the month.

Given the smiling faces, one thing is sure: This new vintage seems to be meeting all expectations, in terms of both quality and quantity. Fermentation is in its early stages, with color and balance already confirmed. Tastings, which will precede the Hospices de Beaune Wine Auction at the end of November, will no doubt confirm this first impression of excellence.

To find out more, join us at our Fall Press Conference that will be held at 11am on 26 September in Beaune. Click here to register (press releases will be dispatched in English on the Press Room on 26 PM).
