Cité des Vins et des Climats de Bourgogne: The construction phase begins

In early March, calls for tenders from architects and scenographers for the Cités in Chablis and Mâcon were launched.

The BIVB, the contracting authority for the Cités des Vins et des Climats de Bourgogne in Chablis and Mâcon, is preparing to select an architect for these two projects. In early March, we launched a call for tenders for this key phase that will bring the project to life, which will define our approach for the architecture, mock-ups, and first visuals, etc.

The winning architect or architects will be selected at the end of July, after a jury of Bourgogne wine industry professionals such as winemakers and négociants has evaluated the candidates and their proposals.

In May, the BIVB will launch a parallel call for tenders for the scenography for both projects. This involves the way the values and messages we want to get across in terms of the design of the visitor experience. Choosing a single provider for both sites is key to the success of the project. It will bring a synergy and coherence and will allow us to successfully manage the content.

The Cité in Beaune will also soon be launching its call for tenders. This project is more complex because it will be part of a new neighborhood in the city that has yet to be created. The call for tenders will thus be part of a much wider project, driven by the City of Beaune and the BIVB.

For more information, please see the Cité des Vins et des Climats de Bourgogne website that is now available in English.
