Your monthly update on Bourgogne wines

N°207 / June 2017

In Bourgogne, not Burgundy, Climat means Terroir but... even more precise! @ BIVB / Aurélien IBANEZ

Summer in Bourgogne: Climats Month and the brand-new Maison des Climats opens its doors!

With exhibitions, walks in the vines, conferences, guided tours, tastings, and workshops for kids, there’s a whole month of activities to enjoy…

Two key events not to be missed:

• The opening of the Maison des Climats on 3 July
A new destination in Beaune will soon be opening its doors. The Maison des Climats is a center for interpreting the Climats, designed to offer an interactive voyage of discovery for children and adults alike. The Maison des Climats will immerse you in the world of the Climats via:
- A large-scale model of the vineyards
- An animated mural
- Multimedia content

This exhibition will bring a contemporary human perspective to 2,000 years of winegrowing in the Bourgogne region. It will help you understand the exceptional character of this model of terroir winegrowing, will reveal how this expertise is handed down from generation to generation, and demonstrate the complexity of the Climats, reflected in the diversity of the wines produced there.

• Les Climats en Fête! Join the party in Saint-Romain on 4 July from 5pm to 11:00pm

Join us in Saint-Romain at a festive and convivial get-together to celebrate the2nd anniversary of the inclusion of the Climats on the UNESCO World Heritage List. The program includes walks, visits, children’s entertainment, tasting, a concert, a theater performance, and a bucolic picnic.
