30/10/2024

The 163th edition was a special one with big volumes to auction

#BourgogneWines #HospicesdeBeaune

The 164th Wine Auction of the Hospices de Beaune 2024 will take place under the town's hall on Sunday, November 17, starting at 2:30 PM.

The One Health cause, "one health," will be in the spotlight with exceptional sponsors…

The Hospices Civils de Beaune are organizing this auction in collaboration with Sotheby’s, the world leader in wine auctions. The 60-hectare estate has received organic certification following the 2024 harvest. It will auction 51 cuvées distributed across 438 lots of wine, including 321 red wines and 117 white wines, along with 3 "feullettes" (half of a "pièce": 114 litres).

The charity lot known as the “Piece des Présidents” is a Beaune Premier Cru, Les Bressandes, which will be sold to benefit the One Health cause. It reflects the relationship between health and the environment, supported by the Global Gift Foundation (GGF) and Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF). These two organizations will receive the proceeds from this sale, represented respectively by Dominic West and Zabou Breitman, and by Eva Longoria and Jean Reno.

In addition to supporting charitable causes, the Wine Auction of the Hospices de Beaune helps ensure the necessary investments for the health needs of the area, including improvements to medical equipment and the modernization of buildings and technical facilities. Today, the Hospices Civils de Beaune is a human-sized establishment with 1,000 beds and employs 1,500 people. In 2023, there were nearly 15,000 hospitalizations in medicine, surgery, and obstetrics, around 700 births, 90,000 outpatient consultations, and more than 20,000 emergency visits…
