Musique & Vin at Clos Vougeot has distinguished itself since 2008 by the alliance it creates between international artists and great Burgundy estates, where musical and wine excellence are intimately linked.
The 2021 edition of the Festival, under the aegis of a new artistic direction, reconnects with its history and values: support for young talents, the quality of the artistic program, and the excellence of Burgundy viticulture.
Since the first edition of the festival in 2008, David Chan, first violin of the Metropolitan Opera in New York, has provided artistic direction for the festival. His career is gradually moving towards orchestra management, to which he has decided to devote more time.
Therefore, the 2021 Festival will open its doors on June 22 under the new artistic direction of two great artists, Gautier Capuçon and Jean-Yves Thibaudet, both faithful to the Festival and lovers of Burgundy. Together, they will be involved with the Festival team, continuing to engage with young talents and helping the Festival grow.
The exceptional programming of the Festival will offer lovers of classical music many works performed by very great artists such as Hugues Borsarello, Frank Braley, Gautier Capuçon, Charles Dutoit, Charles Hervet, Jean-Yves Thibaudet, and young talents like Julia Pusker (at the free concert given at the Halles de Beaune).
► Tuesday, June 22 -- the Château du Clos de Vougeot, emblematic site of the Musique & Vin Festival, will host the opening concert in the Grand Cellier.
► Thursday, June 24 -- the Halles de Beaune will welcome concertgoers.
► Friday, June 25 -- concert at the Eglise Saint Nicolas in Meursault.
► Saturday, June 26 -- the Halles de Beaune will welcome all the artists for a big free concert highlighting young talents.
► Sunday, June 27 -- this artistic week will end in the courtyard of the Château du Clos de Vougeot with a concert given by the orchestra of the Climats de Bourgogne, under the direction of Charles Dutoit.
Combining musical and wine excellence is the signature of this Festival, and we want to continue these moments of conviviality despite the constraints imposed in compliance with the current health regulations.
Lovers of wine and music will be able to share wonderful tastings before the concerts, a mâchon in the courtyard of the Château du Clos de Vougeot, a musical Paulée at the Château de Meursault, and a sumptuous gala dinner on Sunday June 27.
Beautiful evenings where the alliance of music and wine will be celebrated with dignity.
"After such a period of uncertainty, it is essential to continue this great adventure between music and wine, by thanking our patrons and the wineries who give us constant support. Thanks to them, we can look to the future with optimism and confidence.” Aubert de Villaine, President, and Bernard Hervet, Director of the Musique & Vin au Clos Vougeot Association.
The complete program of the Musique & Vin at Clos Vougeot Festival will be announced very soon and the online ticket office will be open from May 26, 2021, at musiqueetvin-closvougeot.com
