Under this name, a reference to the world of cinema, five tastings of Bourgogne wines will be organised by the BIVB for wine professionals and the press in five of the vineyard's main markets:
These professional tastings will provide a unique opportunity to meet Domaines, Maisons and Caves Coopératives from all over Bourgogne, from the Mâconnais to the Chablisien, via the Côte Chalonnaise, the Côte de Beaune and the Côte de Nuits, who are keen to develop their distribution in these markets. Alongside them, importers will also be showcasing the Bourgogne wines in their catalogues.
It is also strategic for the BIVB to encourage meetings between Bourgogne wine producers and market players through a high-profile event. It's an opportunity for Burgundians to come face to face with the reality of the markets and the expectations of professionals.
These events are a perfect complement to the Grands Jours de Bourgogne 2024, which takes the opposite approach: bringing market players to Bourgogne.
This year, the BIVB wanted to show Bourgogne behind the scenes. All the tastings will draw parallels between behind the scenes of a film and the making of a wine. They will reveal the hidden face and authenticity of the daily lives of winegrowers and merchants.
Through these events, reserved exclusively for professionals (restaurateurs, sommeliers, wine merchants, buyers and journalists), Bourgogne wines will be showcasing their unsuspected treasures, with a wide selection of wines whose value for money can meet the expectations of market players and consumers of Bourgogne wines.
A few exclusives
In London, an area will be specifically dedicated to the Bourgogne Hautes Côtes de Beaune and Bourgogne Hautes Côtes de Nuits appellations under the name "The HAUTE-est stars right now". There will be free tastings and mini workshops to help market players better understand these AOCs.
In Scandinavia, the Mâcon appellation plus geographical name, the lesser-known Villages appellations and Petit Chablis & Chablis will be highlighted in master classes.
The 2022 vintage, guest star of the event
Generous and high quality, the 2022 vintage is gradually being bottled at the estates and houses. While the Régionale AOCs have been bottled since the summer, the Village AOCs, Village Premier Cru AOCs and Grand Cru AOCs will not be bottled until the summer of 2024.
