The Clessé Cooperative Winery was established in 1927, at the initiative of winegrowers wanting to improve the quality of their wine and enhance its reputation. Having won many awards, Viré-Clessé finally obtained Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée status in 1998, becoming our flagship wine. Viré-Clessé stands not only for the history of these two villages, but also for the local wine-growers' love of these terroirs, so well suited to producing quality Bourgogne whites. Let us salute the generations who planted the vines, loved this land, and devoted all their talent to it.
