The 163rd Hospices de Beaune Wine Auction is just around the corner!

Every year, the 3rd Sunday in November is devoted to the famous Hospices de Beaune Wine Auction. Book your weekend, from 17 to 19 November, and come and take part in this legendary event in Bourgogne!

Hospices de Beaune Wine Auction

In addition to all the excitement that the town of Beaune will be experiencing over the weekend, the prestigious Hospices de Beaune wine auction, which is celebrating its 163rd edition this year, will take place on Sunday afternoon in the town centre, under the covered market (Halles). The public can follow the sale from the Place des Halles on a giant screen. The lucky ones will be able to enter the sale!

This year, the Pièce de Charité, also known as the Pièce des Présidents, is a Mazis-Chambertin matured in an exceptional barrel. Indeed! It's made from the same oak used to restore Notre-Dame de Paris! The funds raised by this sale will be donated to two associations involved in ageing well: The Fondation pour la Recherche Médicale (FRM) and the Initiative de recherche pour une longévité en bonne santé (IRLB).

One of the patrons is already known: Thierry Lhermitte, a famous French actor who is very committed to the FRM.

Ahead of this momentous occasion, the winegrowers of Bourgogne are presenting all the region's appellations to the general public at the Fête des Grands Vins de Bourgogne, held at the Palais de Congrès in Beaune. Whether you're a wine-lover or just curious, this is the ideal time to discover all the diversity that Bourgogne's 84 AOCs have to offer.

The event is open to professionals from Friday 17 November at 9.30am. The general public is welcome from Friday 2pm to Saturday 6pm (closing time 7pm).
