Discovering the wines and terroir of Bourgogne

Bourgogne enjoys an exceptional geographical situation that gives its wines a unique identity and makes it the ideal place for growing Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Aligoté grapes. The vines grow along a strip covering some 230km from north to south, with 30,052 hectares under vine.

Its 84 world-renowned appellations are spread over the regions of Chablis and the Grand Auxerrois, the Côte de Nuits and the Hautes Côtes de Nuits, the Côte de Beaune and the Hautes Côtes de Beaune, the Côte Chalonnaise and the Couchois, the Mâconnais and the Châtillonnais.

The terroir of Bourgogne represents a subtle and historical alchemy between the grape varietals, the natural elements, and the expertise of local winegrowers. But Bourgogne has many other assets, such as a local climate favorable to winegrowing, some rich geology, and its remarkable Climats, that patchwork of plots spread across the landscape.

This is a place where you can find out more about our wines and our terroir, and also about the expertise of our winegrowers that is handed down from generation to generation.
