In the Yonne, one of the four départements that make up the Bourgogne region, the vines of Chablis grow on the hillsides of the Serein valley. The Auxerrois is located south-southeast of the town of Auxerre. The Tonnerrois can be found in the valley of the Armançon, close by the town of Tonnerre. The Vézelien is in the south of the département, around the town of Vézelay. While the Jovinien is right at the northerly end of the Yonne, looking down over Joigny.
