If you have been walking through the Bourgogne vineyards recently, you will have come across some of these new signs.
To-date, almost 280 signposts for Bourgogne wine appellations have been replaced across the region. Signs for the vines in the Châtillonnais and the Grand Auxerrois were replaced in 2022, and now, it’s the turn of those in the Mâconnais, the Côte Chalonnaise, the Côtes de Beaune and the Côtes de Nuits. Those in the Chablis region, which are more recent than the rest, will remain in position for a little longer with the old visual.
The new signs are in shades of brown to evoke the land and have a natural fit within the landscape. With imagery reflecting the region’s Climats, they highlight the notion of terroir, so important to Bourgogne wines. These new and updated signposts clearly fit with the region’s ambition for excellence in terms of wine tourism.
These signs will help you especially during your walks in the vineyards: thanks to them, you will be able to make the link between the wine you like and the terroir from which it comes. This renewal comes at the right time, just before the opening of the 3 sites of the Cité des Climats et Vins de Bourgogne, planned in May and June 2023 (Mâcon on May 3rd, Chablis on May 17th and Beaune on June 17th).
During your trips, do not hesitate to take a selfie next to your favourite appellations and share them on your social networks by identifying @VinsdeBourgogne!
