You can do just that on 12 November, at a special auction! As you may have already noticed, the appellation signs in the vineyards have been changed since last year. The old ones were 20 years old and, rather than recycling them, we're offering you the chance to buy them at auction.
The appellation signs are real totems for visitors. From Régionale (Bourgogne, Mâcon, Crémant de Bourgogne...) to Village (Irancy, Vosne-Romanée, Meursault, Rully, Pouilly-Fuissé...) and Grand Cru AOCs (Romanée Conti, Corton, Montrachet...), from the Grand Auxerrois to the Mâconnais, via the Châtillonnais, Côte de Beaune, Côte de Nuits and Côte Chalonnaise, they enhance your exploration of the region, in particular by providing a better geographical understanding of the appellations.
Following their renewal, we are offering nearly 600 of the old panels for auction, divided into more than 300 lots.
Whether you're a Bourgogne wine enthusiast, a wine or interior design professional, or simply a collector, you'll be able to bid on these rare pieces during the auction which will be held online on November 12 (2 p.m.-6 p.m.) on drouot.com and interencheres.com, live from the Cité des Climats et vins de Bourgogne in Beaune.
Here are a few details about the signs:
- 29 Grand Cru signs (1.30 m x 0.6 m)
- 280 Régionales or Villages signs (1.90 m x 0.4 m)
- 280 Bourgogne signs (1.90 m x 0.4 m)
- 280 round signs with the Bourgogne ‘B’ logo (diameter 0.45 m)
A sale in support of the culture of Bourgogne winemaking
All proceeds will be donated to the Cité des Climats et Vins de Bourgogne, to support its cultural activities.
In just one year of existence, the Cité has already met with great success. The funds raised will be used to enhance the programme of conferences and exhibitions, to share the cultural, artistic and historical heritage of wine-growing Bourgogne with an even wider public.
