Located in Santenay, in the heart of wine-growing Burgundy, just 15 minutes from Beaune, Château Philippe le Hardi bears witness to almost 2,000 years of history through its remarkable architecture and exceptional estate.

Built on ancient fortifications dating from the 9th and 12th centuries, the château became one of the strongholds of the Duchy of Burgundy in the 14th century. In 1395, Philippe le Hardi (1342-1404), Duke of Burgundy and son of King Jean II Le Bon of France, signed a decree establishing single-vineyard viticulture, designating Pinot Noir as the sole grape variety for red wines in Burgundy. The château's famous glazed tiles bear witness to this prestigious past, which is closely linked to wine.

Today, Château Philippe le Hardi is one of the largest estates in Burgundy, with almost 98 hectares of vines spread over the Côte de Nuits, Côte de Beaune and Côte Chalonnaise.
This open day will give you the chance to discover this emblematic Burgundy site all day on Saturday 7 June.
