The Cave de Prestige Awards has been a key event for the Bourgogne wines industry for over 50 years. It showcases the quality and diversity of Bourgogne wines and is a major communication tool for the region.
On 3 July, around a hundred professionals gathered at the Cité des Climats et vins de Bourgogne (+link) in Beaune for the 53rd Cave de Prestige awards ceremony.
183 wines were selected from the 1,394 samples presented, after being tasted by a panel of experts. All of them then went on to the Super Jury, having obtained a score of over 16/20. It’s a very strict process, with only 13.1% of samples selected.
They will now be able to represent the quality and diversity of Bourgogne in France and abroad. Almost all of the 84 Bourgogne appellations are represented, with 75% of the wines coming from the 2022 vintage (excluding non-vintage Crémant de Bourgogne).
Bottles from 119 Caves, Maisons and Domaines, including 19 new producers (not awarded for at least 7 years, or awarded for the very first time), will be able to bear the Cave de Prestige badge, a symbol of excellence and recognition of their expertise.
These wines will be used throughout 2024-2025 for masterclasses and public events organised by the Bourgogne Wine Board all around the world. They are true ambassadors for the region!
