In the Côte d'Or, one of the four départements that make up the Bourgogne region, the vines of the Côte de Nuits are located to the south of Dijon. This area is nicknamed "The Champs-Élysées" of the Bourgogne winegrowing region as on either side of the road that runs through it are world-renowned vineyards like Gevrey-Chambertin, Vosne-Romanée, and Nuits-Saint-Georges.
