Why does the site have a red background and why doesn't it always fill the screen?

The site is designed to fit an 1024x768 screen, which would make it adaptable to all screens whether larger or smaller. This means the information on the home page can all be accessed without recourse to the scroll bar. Your screen settings can be modified to achieve the same result.
