On July 2, the Wines of Bourgogne unveiled their 2025 Cave de Prestige selection during a ceremony at the Cité des Climats et vins de Bourgogne in Beaune.
Created more than 50 years ago, this distinction shines a spotlight on the wines that will represent Bourgogne throughout the year, both in France and internationally, as part of communication campaigns led by the Bourgogne Wine Board. A Rigorous Selection to Reflect the Quality and Diversity of Bourgogne Wines.
The selection process is strict yet fair: all 1,406 samples submitted this year were assessed by multiple tasting panels. Each of the 194 winning wines, just 14% of those entered, scored above 16/20 in the grand jury, placing this selection on a par with the highest standards of leading wine guides and specialist publications.
The 2023 vintage dominates the selection (66% of the cuvées), confirming its superb expression, followed by the 2022 vintage. Régionale AOCs and some lesser-known Village appellations—such as Saint-Véran, Irancy, or Auxey-Duresses—are especially celebrated, showcasing an accessible and multifaceted Bourgogne. And the Crémant de Bourgogne are not to be outdone, which is only fitting for this sparkling appellation celebrating its 50th anniversary in full effervescence!
