Each year, the Hospices de Nuits-Saint-Georges Wine Auction turns the town into a true place of celebration.
The highlight of the weekend is the auction of the Domaine des Hospices de Nuits-Saint-Georges wines, held at the Cellier of the Château du Clos de Vougeot on Sunday from 2:30 pm. The traditional Charity Barrel is sold in support of a non-profit organisation, in the presence of committed artists.
But the event is not only about the auctioneer’s hammer. Throughout the weekend, the Halles of Nuits-Saint-Georges host a wine fair bringing together winegrowers and négociants, showcasing wines from the Climats of the Nuits-Saint-Georges appellation as well as other terroirs of Bourgogne. Tastings and purchases are available on site.
The atmosphere is also sporty, with the 20th edition of the Nuits-Saint-Georges Half Marathon. More than 2,500 runners are expected on a route crossing the town, the vineyards and the Clos de Vougeot. The race features entertainment and tasting stops along the way. Children’s races, a 10 km run and a Nordic walking event complete the programme.
Gourmet experiences and entertainment also punctuate the weekend: a Chocolate Fair, a food market, a funfair, concerts, an official musical parade, as well as a Book and Arts Fair dedicated to wine heritage and artistic creation.
A friendly and festive event where Bourgogne wine and its culture are celebrated in all their forms, throughout the streets of Nuits.
