This year, the harvest began exceptionally early in Bourgogne, on 8 August. Yet it also continued until mid-September...
Marked by intense heat and drought, the 2026 crop is expected to be relatively small in volume. The upside is that the often-small berries have concentrated on incredible aromas, and winemakers are delighted with the superb quality of this raw material. The colours are brilliant, the aromas powerful, and the balance is carried by a lovely, crisp acidity.
Winemaking is now continuing in the cellars (some producers have even already devatted and begun ageing). Over the coming months, we will learn more about the character of the 2026 vintage. We should know more in early November in particular, with the first tastings organised ahead of the Hospices de Beaune Wine Auction, which will take place on 15 November.
