Grands Jours de Bourgogne: Market Trends, Communication, Technical Priorities
At the Grands Jours de Bourgogne, the focus was on the economic and strategic forces shaping Bourgogne wines today.
During the press conference, the Bourgogne Wine Board shared an update on market trends, communication initiatives, and key technical priorities.
The 2025-2026 campaign is broadly in line with the previous year. In a more selective consumption environment, Bourgogne wines are performing better than the overall market, supported in particular by more accessible appellations such as Crémant de Bourgogne and the Régionale AOCs.
Exports remain a key driver, with volumes increasing despite a global environment that continues to vary significantly across markets.
Communication efforts are increasingly focused on younger consumers. Campaigns such as “Tellement Bourgogne” in France and “Feeling Bourgogne” in the United Kingdom, along with influencer partnerships and the “Les Astuces Dégust’” web series, reflect a clear push to modernize messaging and connect with new audiences.
The Technical and Innovation division is continuing its work on climate adaptation, including the development of resistant grape varieties and ongoing research into the aging potential of white wines.
The 2025 vintage is shaping up with balance and definition, pointing to wines with strong potential. At the same time, the Cité des Climats et vins de Bourgogne continues to build momentum.

South Korea: Masterclass and Trade Tastings in Seoul and Busan
Bourgogne wines head to Seoul and Busan this April for a series of professional tastings, masterclasses, and explorations of the region’s terroirs.
On April 21 in Seoul, the Bourgogne Wine Board will host a new edition of the professional event “Take a Closer Look at Bourgogne Wines.”
The day will open with a masterclass dedicated to Crémant de Bourgogne, led by Insoon Lee, Official Bourgogne Wine Ambassador, and Hyojung Yoon, named Best Sommelier of French Wines in 2016. The session will feature a guided tasting exploring stylistic diversity and terroir expression within this appellation, which continues to gain interest across international markets. Produced from the region’s emblematic grape varieties, Crémant de Bourgogne offers a wide stylistic range, from white to rosé, and from brut to extra-brut.
The program will continue with a trade tasting bringing together 29 importers, each presenting Bourgogne wines currently available commercially - an ideal opportunity to explore the breadth of appellations and terroirs across the region. A dedicated Chablis table will highlight the precision and nuance of this flagship appellation, with a few surprises along the way.
The following day, April 22 in Busan, importers will take part in a full day of training. The focus will be on lesser-known Village appellations that are more accessible and closely aligned with current consumer expectations - offering opportunities to expand Bourgogne wine portfolios in the Korean market. Chablis wines will also be featured, particularly for their mineral profile, which pairs seamlessly with many Asian cuisines.
Through these professional events, the aim is to showcase the full range of Bourgogne appellations while opening new opportunities for importers and key professionals in the Korean market.
The Bourgogne Wine Board is partnering with Doug Frost, Master of Wine, to host two exclusive masterclasses in Missouri - on April 22 in St. Louis and May 4 in Kansas City.
These immersive sessions will feature a fully blind tasting of eight wines, with a focus on lesser-known appellations that highlight the region’s diversity. The goal is to move beyond the most familiar names and offer a deeper understanding of these often-overlooked wines, along with the role they can play in a well-constructed portfolio.
Participants will gain practical insight into the strengths and positioning of these appellations, making it a valuable opportunity for trade professionals looking to broaden their Bourgogne wine selection.
Established in 1937, Bourgogne Aligoté is a Régionale appellation produced exclusively from the Aligoté grape variety, the region’s second most widely planted white grape.
Long overlooked, it has regained attention among wine drinkers for its affordability and its bright, refreshing profile.
In the glass, Bourgogne Aligoté typically shows a pale gold color, with aromas that lean toward fresh fruit - apple and lemon - alongside delicate floral notes. On the palate, its lively acidity and energy make it especially appealing when enjoyed young.
At the table, its freshness pairs easily with grilled fish, oysters, goat cheeses, as well as salads, steamed vegetables, or traditional gougères. Served around 11-12°C (52–54°F), it is particularly well suited to springtime dining.
It also works beautifully as an aperitif.

Results of the 65th Hospices de Nuits-Saint-Georges Wine Auction
Held on March 8 and organized by iDealwine at the Château du Clos de Vougeot, the 65th Hospices de Nuits-Saint-Georges wine auction reached a total of €1,526,000 (excluding the charity lot), up 91.7% compared to the previous edition.
A total of 80 pièces (228-liter barrels) and one feuillette (114-liter half-barrel) from the 2025 vintage were offered, with 100% of the lots sold - an indication of strong buyer confidence in the vintage.
The average price for red wine pièces came to €18,595, while the rarity of white wines drove the average price up to €38,000.
The charity pièce, sold via subscription in support of the Ani’nomade association, which focuses on animal-assisted therapy, raised €59,500.
This edition also carried symbolic significance, as it marked the final vintage vinified by Jean-Marc Moron, estate manager since 1990.
