Some changes: with the 2019 harvests, Domaine des Terres de Velle’s range will count three new white appellations :
The estate will rise from 6 hectares to 7.3 hectares, including 0.5 hectares of Grand Cru. Sophie & Fabrice Laronze clarify they will not pursue the négociant-business created by Blair Pethel and prefer to stay focused on their vigneron-job they love so much…
Some history: In 2009, Sophie & Fabrice Laronze decided to reunite their previous work experiences and create the Domaine des Terres de Velle in Auxey-Duresses : a worthy challenge in Burgundy, where one generally becomes a wine maker only by family inheritance.
Their vineyard is a true Burgundian-style “mosaic” of wines: every year, they produce 15 different wines, each from grapes harvested on their own 6 hectares.
The 35 000 bottles produced each year are 50% Burgundian Chardonnay, 10% Aligoté (white wines) and 40% Pinot Noir (red wines).
Sophie & Fabrice approach their work in a pragmatic way : sensitive to the principles of organic and biodynamic farming, they grant nevertheless the most importance to what our forefathers called "Common Sense" and work heart and soul to help each of their wines express to the maximum this unique Terroir.
