The Santenay appellation explained through its geography and geology

Bourgogne wines invite you to follow Jean-Pierre Renard, an expert and official trainer at the École des Vins de Bourgogne, to discover the geographical and geological specificities of the Santenay appellation.
The area covered by the Santenay appellation can be divided into three areas:
- The first, most northerly, produces very aromatic wines with soft tannins.
- The second, to the west, with excellent southeast/south or even southwest orientation and with increasingly thin soil, produces very fine, classy wines.
- The third and most southerly is an area with fault lines and deeper clay soil, resulting in powerful wines with good tannic structure.
Discover the Climats and Premier Cru wines of each of these areas through this short film.
