History of Bourgogne wines

Bourgogne has been created over thousands of years to produce some internationally renowned wines. Planted during Roman times and then developed by the monks and dukes of Bourgogne, the winegrowing region continued to evolve after the French Revolution, as an early adopter of the Appellations d’Origines Contrôlée classification system in 1936.
Today, by respecting this history while embracing modernity, Bourgogne has become a key reference, thanks to the efforts of those men and women who work the vines and make the wine.
