158th Hospices de Beaune Wine Auction

From Friday 16 November, all Bourgogne AOCs can be tasted in Beaune

[9:30am to midday, Palais des Congrès, Beaune] - Special opening for the press and the trade - The 146th Fête des Grands Vins de Bourgogne brings together some 700 estates, producers and cooperatives, who will be offering their latest vintage for tasting. In total around 3,000 wines will be on offer.

The BIVB and the CAVB are the joint hosts of this extraordinary event. Throughout the morning, the BIVB’s press department extends a personalized welcome to media attendees, including a glass and tasting catalog. If you would like to meet any particular winemakers or others in the sector, either send us an email in advance (cecile.mathiaud@bivb.com) or ask us on site.

[11am] - Special press tasting of three Bourgogne AOCs

You are invited to taste these three selected appellations and meet their producers. This year, Vézelay, Volnay, and Bourgogne Coulanges-la-Vineuse.

[3:30pm, Hospices de Beaune, invitation only] - Ludivine Griveau, winemaker at the Domaine Viticole des Hospices de Beaune, welcomes the press for a special tasting of the Hospices de Beaune wines that will go on sale on Sunday afternoon.

Sunday 18 November:

Press conference on the Bourgogne wine sector  [10am, Salle des Pôvres, Hospices de Beaune]

An industry update on the latest vintage, economic performance, and future projects. This is an opportunity to put your questions to representatives of the Bourgogne wine trade: François Labet, President of the BIVB, Louis-Fabrice Latour, Co-President of the BIVB, Thiebault Huber, President of the CAVB, and Frédéric Drouhin, President of the Fédération des Négociants-Eleveurs de Grande Bourgogne (FNEB).

Ludivine Griveau, winemaker at the Domaine Viticole des Hospices de Beaune, François Poher, Director of the Hospital and Hospices de Beaune, Alain Suguenot, Mayor of Beaune, and the representatives of the charities benefitting from the sale of the Pièce des Présidents will all speak and answer questions. The names of this year’s charities will be announced on 30 October at the Hospices de Beaune press conference in Paris.

 

These events usually require prior registration. Invitations will be sent out mid-October.
