Burgundy Wines to Tour Asia in May

On the occasion of Vinexpo Asia-Pacifica, which will take place in Hong Kong from 29 to 31 May, Burgundy wines are carrying out a major tour of Asia.
It will begin by a “Terroirs & Signatures de Bourgogne” tasting on 22 May in Tokyo then in Osaka the following day, organised by the Burgundy Wine Board (BIVB). Once again, Burgundy is asserting its ties with Japan. Burgundy’s Climats and lieux-dits will hold centre stage thanks to a seminar given by Jean-Pierre Renard, instructor at the Burgundy Wine School.
The Burgundy delegation will then head for South Korea for a tasting in Seoul on 24 May, organised by the Burgundy Regional Chamber of Commerce and Industry. And the BIVB will offer a seminar on Burgundy’s Village appellations.
Around thirty Burgundy producers will be present in Hong Kong for Vinexpo. To this end, on 29 May, the BIVB will present seminars on Burgundy’s Village and Grand Cru appellations. During the previous edition (2010), Vinexpo Hong Kong beat all its records with 12,617 visitors (+42% compared to 2008) from 25 countries and 882 exhibitors from 35 countries (+27.4% compared to 2008).
